1953 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country Wagon. Caravan Beige over Cocoa Brown Metallic. Original 331 “HEMI” engine and “Alligator” Naugahyde interior. This stunning, original-condition Town & Country has had one family owner until just this past year. 82K miles from new. Hood and front fenders were repainted in 1955 (after an encounter with a Texas dust storm) but otherwise this car is completely original. (think “Time Capsule”) Power steering, power brakes with “Imperial” suspension. Original and super rare, optional “Alligator” interior with “Original finish” wood in great shape. Split fold-down rear seats. Fluid-Drive Semi-automatic transmission has a clutch pedal that is only used at rest or to shift into reverse. The motor starts easily and runs smoothly. Brakes well with a tight suspension. Exhaust is quiet and drives beautifully at 65 to 70 MPH. New Coker radial tires wrapping Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. One of only 1399 ever built and most probably the best original example in existence. Great story that is immortalized with family photos and framed historical narratives. Original wheels and hubcaps are included in the sale as well as original keys, and preservation “award” trophy. A unique opportunity (as you can see by the comps) that won’t come around again soon.
