“The Maximum in Minis” was the slogan of Taiwan engine and bike maker SST, whose Honda 50 competitor, the Gemini, was imported into the United States by American Steel, 1969-73 in small quantities. Manufacturer SST also built 50cc engines for Yamaha, so this rotary valve two stroke is a known unit. Minibike enthusiasts love this rare bird! The bike was known in its day for living up to the company slogan; online source “bike-urious.com” states authoritatively that “those in the know suggest that these are some of the fastest mini bikes ever built!” Its superior power and torque earned it a memorable nickname: “The Ferrari of Minibikes!”
