#649 1975 Lamborghini Espada Series III

$0.00

VIN: 9606 (Numero Telaio/Frame Number)
Odometer: 51585
Engine: 3.9L (240ci) V-12 (#41420)
Trans.: 3-spd Auto (TorqueFlite)

The Bertone-designed Lamborghini Espada (Sword) was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1968. Three "Series" of Espadas were produced as GT (Series I) and GTE (Series II/III) models. Production of the Espada ended in 1978 with just 1,199 units built. The Series III started production in 1972 with a redesigned dash panel for better driver ergonomics and only 456 were built between 1972-1978.

This mid-production 1975 Series III Espada was constructed for North American import at the Lamborghini plant in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Bologna, and delivered new to Carrie Auto in Canada on May 14, 1975. The included Lamborghini Certificato d'origine document shows the vehicle returned to Automobili Lamborghini Centro di Restauro in Sant'Agata Bolognese in 2003 for a complete restoration.

A December 2003 Technical Inspection report from Lamborghini further indicates that the car is a numbers-matching car in its original colors and was owned by Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who would serve as 6th Prime Minister of Kuwait from 2006-2011.

The exterior Oro Metallizzato (gold metallic) paintwork is in beautiful condition, and the wonderful Senape (Dijon) interior matches that condition and confirms the car has been garaged without use since the restoration.

The V-12 engine mated to the TorqueFlite transmission is a rare find and offers the next caretaker ample Lamborghini power and smooth shifting, along with room for four in the striking Bertone body.

This elegant Espada presents nicely throughout and will turn many heads for the new owner.
