Let’s face it – you can’t complete your collection of cars named for presidents without owning a Roosevelt, and the sturdy little autos made by Marmon are not exactly thick on the ground – the marque only lasted two years, 1929 and 1930.
The Roosevelt claimed an important place in automotive history as the first production car with a straight-8 motor to be sold for less than $1,000.
Sold as “smart transportation for the thrifty,” the Roosevelt lived up to its namesake, Teddy Roosevelt, for being tough, dependable and straightforward.
This tidy sedan is an excellent example. It’s in amazing condition for a 95-year-old car, and scores big points for originality. It’s a truly beautiful Vintage Era car with a presidential pedigree.
