$0.00

PRIME TIME CAPSULE RESTORATION CANDIDATE
1980 Suzuki GS 750 ET, this vintage project bike is a survivor. Once upon a time, this machine was a blistering hot piece of Japanese engineering - a legendary, 16-valve powerhouse that set the standard for superbike performance in the early 1980's.  Today, this iconic motorcycle is a pure time capsule complete with a period-correct Vetter Windjammer the premier touring fairing of the 1970s and 1980s, transforming the bike into a full-dress cross-country vintage tourer and an AMCO Diablo" Rear Carrier paired with a hard tail box of steel construction with a built-in passenger backrest.  Housed in a single location heated garage since 2010, the bike requires mechanical recommissioning to be road worthy.  Service records up to 2010 accompany.

The golden era of the Japanese Superbike arms race, the Japanese 'Big 4", Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki dominated the motorcycle industry in 1980.  What separated Suzuki from the pack was the introduction of:

  • 16-VALVE TSCC Engine. Making the bike much faster and more efficient than older 8-valve models, 1980 was the first year Suzuki introduced the Twin Swirl Combustion Chamber (TSCC) 16-valve engine to the GS 750 boosting horsepower to around 76 hp.

  • Double Overhead Cams: (DOHC)  Features a DOHC inline-four cylinder layout with four valves per cylinder - a high performance configuration that delivers high -  RPM power and the signature smooth UJM" (Universal Japanese Motorcycle) exhaust note.

  • Includes an pneumatic air-assisted front fork and dual rear shocks, alongside a triple hydraulic brake setup: dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc, which was advanced stopping power for 1980.

  • The "ET" Designation:  The "E" signifies cast aluminum alloy wheels and a front disc brake.  The "T" represents the specific 1980 model year styling which features classic clean-lined fuel tank and tail section.

Current Mileage: 9405.8 Odometer Reading

Washington Collector Plate

A chance to own a true milestone of Japanese engineering dominance - a bike that didn't just compete with the Big Four, but fundamentally out-thought them.
