Geo Metro: Rebuilt by a young woman from Colorado and driven all over the US. She had a sleeping bag in the back. Recently replaced the AC compressor and radiator. My son blew the clutch master (I think) and also managed to lose the key. Here is the list of rebuilds from 2022-2023 (from prior owner):
ENGINE:
Engine was ¾ rebuilt! Head was rebuilt locally (valve + seat grind, new guides and seals, faced. NEW stock pistons/ rings / wrist pins / connecting rod big-end bearings.
Cylinder bores were ball-honed
New Timing belt + idler bearing + water pump (replaced @ engine rebuild time, <10000mi on the belt now)
New Timing belt cover
New alternator
New oilpan and gask
New valve cover gasket / distributor seal / PCV + seal
New various seals including front main seal
New coolant hoses and seals / o-rings
New OEM spark plug cables + NGK spark plugs New Ignition Control Module (ICM) - AC Delco 1993
New Ignition Coil – Delphi GN10509
New ignition igniter
New air temp sensor
New coolant temp sensor
New throttle position sensor
New manifold air pressure sensor – Spectra Premium MP122
New O2 sensor – Bosch 13500
Remanufactured port fuel injector – GB Manufacturing 84117113 New engine mounts all around!
New exhaust manifold + gasket
New (partial) exhaust
BRAKES:
New front rotors + pads + hardware + hoses
New rear shoes, and spring sets
New bleeders all around
DRIVETRAIN + SUSPENSION:
New General Altimax RT43 175/70 R13 tires (2021, but low miles still)
New wheel bearings all around
New/remanufactured L & R CV-driveshafts (replaced a few years apart, one just this year)
New gearbox axle output seals (still leak just a bit)
New front struts and springs and strut mounts/bushings – KYB 22027 & SM5189
New rear sway bar links & bushings
New Mevotech front control arms / bushings / ball joints
New front outer tie-rods
New rear shocks / control arm & link bushings
INTERIOR / CHASSIS:
New door open keepers
Heavy underbody coating in all wheel wells
New stereo AND all four Rockford Fosgate speakers!!!
New speedometer cable
THINGS WHICH NEED SOME WORK:
Previous owner modified electrical harness some so headlight switch positions are mixed up (but lights work)
Rear anti-sway bar bushing mounts rusted away (doesn’t really cause problems, could use being welded back some day!)
Shift linkage bushings are a bit loose, could use replacement
